I’m autistic.

  • No, I’m not rainman.
  • Yes, I have a partner, and yes, autistics can feel love and have good relationships
  • Yes, I can indeed like fiction and be autistic.
  • Yes, I had the MMR inoculations, no, this is not why I’m autistic.
  • Yes, I identify as genderqueer. No, this does not invalidate my autism.
  • My genderqueerness has nothing to do with that autism = ‘male brain’ BS.
  • Yes, I can talk the bulk of the time, no, we’re not all non-verbal
  • Yes, I’m an adult.
  • Yes, I’m queer, and yes, autistic folk can be queer.
  • Yes, I enjoy sex, and yes, autistic folk can enjoy sex.
  • No, changing my diet will not ‘fix’ me.
  • Yes, I’m happy being this way.
  • No, I’m not a burden on anyone.
  • Yes, I have tattoos, and no, autistic people are not all incapable of dealing with the sensation of tattoos.
  • Yes, I’m kinky, no, autistic people are not incapable of kink.
  • Yes, I have a sense of humor.
  • Yes, I have mental health issues that are separate from my autism. Yes, this can happen.
