I’m Cydne (like ‘Sydney’), a 20 year old non-binary person with autism. Neutral pronouns please :)

My parents assigned me a Native American name at birth, but I now go by Cydne, a name of my own creation, as I don’t think it’s ok to appropriate cultural names just because they ‘sound pretty’.

I chose ‘Cydne’ for several reasons. First and foremost, I wanted a name that both looked and sounded androgynous, to fit with my ever changing gender identity. Secondly, when I was a little kid, no matter what gender mode I was in, I always thought Cyd Charisse was just the coolest and most beautiful woman on screen. So, I based my name off of hers.

My gender identity changes everyday. I haven’t taken hormones or had surgery. I’m afraid that if I do, I’ll just be feeling dysphoria on girl days rather than boy days.

I’m married to a lovely bigendered person called Leslie. We have an open relationship that may go poly.

I’m a pro choice, pro legalized prostitution, and pro legalized porn. I’m also pro legalized drugs, because prohibition doesn’t work.

I’m a recovering drug addict, and I still struggle with alcoholism and gambling problems.

I’m a chubby mofo and I eat a rather unhealthy amount of cheese.

I’m English working class, and I don’t really have a political affiliation as such.

I’m white with Jewish heritage that I haven’t quite worked out what to do with yet.

I don’t believe in god, or in anything metaphysical or supernatural, and I believe in religious freedom and tolerance that goes both ways. If you want me to respect your religion, do not use it to justify bigotry or hate towards other religions or ways of life.

I got good grades but I ditched formal education at 16. I’ve just started a job at an airport doing security. If you fly into London Gatwick, you may be searched by me!

I’ve been raped twice and molested once. All in the same year. Rape jokes aren’t funny. Hell, I hated ‘em before I was raped.

I’m a Trekkie, and a Harry Potter fan. Twilight is shite.

I’m a gamer, but I also adore reading.

I have a very low tolerance for vegans who appropriate slavery, rape, and the holocaust. Also vegans who think we all should be vegan.

I don’t ID as a feminist because of all the anti-trans shit and ableism and classism in the movement that has screwed me over. There’s more to ‘women’s rights’ than armpit hair and plushie uteruses.
